How much should quality shoes cost?

Hello, dear guests of our site! Today we want to talk about a very interesting and at the same time complex topic – the cost of shoes from a Ukrainian manufacturer. This topic is very interesting because of the various subtleties of production that you may not be aware of, but which greatly affect the price. And it is difficult due to the fact that the price often plays a leading role when choosing shoes to order, which is not always the right decision. So, let's try to understand in more detail how to choose a shoe manufacturer for wholesale cooperation with an ideal balance of price and quality.

The first and very important point to understand – this is the answer to the question "What forms the wholesale price of shoes?".

If in the retail trade a large part of the cost is occupied by external costs, such as the rent of premises, salaries of sellers, budget for advertising, etc., then in the shoe factory 90% of the cost is occupied by the costs of materials. This is the main key to the wholesale cost of shoes.

Let's look at an example of why this is important. Let's imagine that the final buyer plans to buy a pair of high-quality shoes made of genuine leather for himself and conditionally allocates UAH 2,000 for this purchase. And so this buyer comes to the store or opens a website selling shoes and finds a model there that he really liked, but it is 200 UAH more expensive than his planned budget. This is only 10% more than the planned amount that most or even all people will be willing to overpay to get the exact shoes they like. And therefore, we can come to the conclusion that in retail trade, a small difference in price will not have a significant impact on the majority of buyers for making a decision to purchase quality shoes.

At the same time, for wholesale trade, the same small difference in price already becomes a significant difference. But here we should not forget that the wholesale price of shoes mainly consists of the prices of materials. And this means that in the production of shoes, only $2-3 can significantly influence the quality.

Why does this happen?

In production, it is impossible to throw away extra parts. And in any case, you will have to buy materials for each stage of shoe production. But absolutely every detail for production can also be both of good quality and not very good. For example, you can buy genuine leather of the first quality and the shoes will look great and be worn for several seasons, and you can buy leather of the 4th grade, where the shoes will not be bad at first glance, but the buyer will be lucky if these shoes will last at least one season. And such an example can be given for every material for production.

Yes, the cost of quality materials is much higher, but if you count the costs for 1 pair, the price difference is not significant at all. But for quality, this difference is huge.

But which shoes to buy is up to you. You only need to answer 1 question – What products do you want to sell to your customers? If it is as cheap as possible from any materials, then, of course, there is no need to overpay. But if you want to sell really high-quality shoes, in which you will be confident and for which your customers will return, we recommend that you do not set a low price as the main criterion for the wholesale purchase of shoes. By saving 10-15% of the wholesale cost of shoes, you will get a huge difference in quality.
